The new generation of British motorsport driver’s will take to the track at the Barcelona test on May the 15th and 16th.

Lando Norris, George Russell and Oliver Rowland will all get a chance to show off their skills at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Norris, McLaren’s official reserve driver will take to the track in the MCL33 for the third time after he took part in testing in Hungary and Abu Dhabi for the Woking based team. Running alongside him Stoffel Vandoorne and Oliver Turvey taking turns in testing the car.

Force India plan on using the Mercedes junior, George Russell in the Pirelli tyre test on Tuesday. Russell has already driven at the Brazil and Abu Dhabi tests. He won the F2 sprint race at Azerbaijan last weekend. Force India will also run Canadian driver Nicholas Latifi during the testing.

”Really excited to test the VJM11 for the first time, especially after their podium at the weekend!” said Russell on social media.


Williams will be using Oliver Rowland on the first day. The 25-year-old, who is competing in the World Endurance Championship with Manor will get his first experience in the car when he makes his debut for the team on day one. Rowland was taken in by Williams as there young driver after he completed a year’s stint at Renault as a development driver.

Robert Kubica will take over from Rowland on Wednesday, with Kubica also set to make his Grand Prix weekend return by driving in Practice One at the Spanish GP.

According to the FIA rules, every team has to assign two out of four days of testing to drivers with less than two Grand Prix.
