Wiliams cooling problem costs 8 tenths
Since the start of the season, Williams has struggled with pace. Some people were blaming the inexperienced driver line up of Stroll and Sirotkin.
According to Auto Motor und Sport, the car designed under the guidance of technical director Paddy Lowe is suffering from a fundamental cooling problem.
“Paddy Lowe wanted to copy the cooling system of his former team Mercedes, but the concept is complicated and apparently Williams made a mistake”. correspondent Michael Schmidt explained.

One of the Williams engineers is quoted as saying: “If we solve the cooling problem, we’ll gain eight tenths in one fell swoop.”
Schmidt speculates that Williams may be reaching out to Mercedes in a bid to solve its troubles, basing his assumption on a paddock conversation he witnessed in China between Lawrence Stroll, Lance Stroll’s father, and Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff.
Let’s hope that Williams can sort out their cooling problem soon and give the drivers a car they can race with.
